Welcome to the nineteenth day of my daily October posts AND the first day of Horror Week!! Throughout these next 13-days, I will be posting different spooky fun facts, tricks and treats. Today, I will be recommending 10 spooky places to visit during this autumn season! Enjoy!

10. Horror movie nights at cinemas - One of my favorite spooky places to visit during the Halloween season is movie theaters/cinemas! I’ve lived in several states/countries throughout my life and I have found that in both the US and UK there are quite a few cinemas that offer throwback slasher films throughout the month of October—including Regal, AMC, and Cineworld. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a joint streaming of Smile (2022) and Smile 2 (2024) last year at one of these events. Everyone gets involved with their pajamas and snacks—it’s like a big old sleepover! If your local theater doesn’t offer these throwbacks, then I would suggest checking out a new spooky, horror or thriller in theaters this month such as The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025), The Black Phone 2 (2025), or The Strangers — Chapter 2 (2025).

9. Light shows - I’ve heard of a few different light shows throughout the world that take place during Halloween. If you live near one of these events, I suggest booking that ticket! Go explore a light show of all things Halloween. The bright colors, whimsical creations and holiday spirit will make sure to meet all of your needs!

8. Knotts Scary Farm - Rides, clowns, Halloween costumes and haunted houses! A fun and scary choice for CA residents to enjoy!

7. Disneyland’s Oogy Boogie Bash - Disney’s trick-or-treat parties are a great pick for family-friendly fun with all things Mickey!!

6. Universal Horror Nights - If you’re looking for something extra spooky, Universal Studios has your name on it! Themed haunted houses, terrifying rides, and don’t even get me started on the fear I have of those lines! I’m just playing, Universal Studios is a great Halloween time (as long as you are old enough to participate). It’s definitely the most chilling of all the options on this list. Make sure to stay safe and comfortable! If you cannot handle scary amusement parks then this is not the one for you! Otherwise, enjoy the night!! This year's CA location has haunted houses from Fallout, Terrifier, and FNAF—just to name a few!

5. Ghost tours - Want to take the historical route this October? Ghost tours vary by state, city and country. Check the reviews, but they’re usually quite interesting! You might even learn a new thing or two about your city’s history! If you’re in the UK, I suggest the Ghost Bus Tours! Those are always a swell time!

4. Haunted houses - There are many different choices for this option with all of the creatively themed haunted houses available to visit! If you enjoy a good jumpscare, then this one is for you!

3. Apple orchard - If you’re looking for a more family-friendly option, apple picking and exploring the orchard would be perfect.

2. Pumpkin patch - The most iconic place to visit on this list! Get a few friends together and go take photos, pick up pumpkins or go through a corn maze out there! The best place to go out for a delightful October evening with the whole family.

1. Salem, MA - If you’re planning on taking a trip this autumn season, I suggest this spooky and historical city. Take a few tours of the horrors that took place there, check out a few stores or even just attend the Halloween celebration!

Thank you for reading and make sure to come back for tomorrow's post!
