For this writer, my top 3 (because we all know that I set wayyy more than 3) New Year resolutions for 2026 are as follows:

  1. Read 100 books minimum! I set this resolution last year as well, but after hitting my 76th novel in April, I stopped reading for a while… I think I ended around 92 books by December. So close yet so far. This year we will do better as a community of readers!

  2. Write something every single day! I don’t care if it’s a poem, journal, entry, or an entire short story—I will be writing something every day of 2026.

  3. Blog every Monday and Thursday throughout 2026! As y’all know, I have had this blog since 2021. Therefore, I decided that for my 5 anniversary I plan to blog a minimum of 104 posts (representing the two dates that I will be posting on weekly throughout the 52-weeks of this year). I know that in the past I have not met my goals on uploading as consistently as I would have hoped to, but this year my goal is to give my readers as much to read as possible on a weekly basis!

What are your top 3 New Year’s resolutions for 2026? Leave your responses in the comments below!

Sincerely,

your 21st-century poet
