Welcome to the fifth day of my daily October posts! Throughout these next 27-days, I will be posting different spooky fun facts, tricks and treats. Today, we will be going through my top 10 best game recommendations for this autumn! I will be covering three sections in this post: Switch, PC/console, and board/card games. Enjoy!

Warning: Take heed, I am aware of some of the political issues with certain creators on this list. I am talking purely about the worlds people have come to love, not the creators. This blog avoids politics as I would like to keep it a positive, open and loving space! On the 21st century poet blog, we support all equally with love and care. ❤️

Switch:

1. Bramble (2023) - Folklore, fairytales and discovering hidden worlds!

2. Into the Woods (2017) - Have you ever wanted to explore the story behind a black cat exploring the dark woods in the middle of a mystery plagued city? Now, you can!

3. Hogwarts Legacy (2023) - You can now go to Hogwarts yourself! Let me know in the comments below what house you’re in!! I, myself, am in Hufflepuff! 💛

4. Strange Horticulture (2022) - Discover new plants, pet your cat, and explore the occult puzzles of this game!

5. Coffee Talk (2020) - Make some coffee and have some nice conversations. It’s just a pleasant time all around! Perfect for autumn!

6. Creepy Tale (2020) - A creepy puzzle game exploring the rescue mission of a young child as he tries to save his brother despite the creatures surrounding him.

7. Pumpkin Jack (2020) - You play as Jack, a sort-of headless horseman character—flaming pumpkin head, on a mission to kill a powerful wizard in order to end the road to peace. If you like inciting drama, this one is for you!

8. The Cult of the Lamb (2022) - You play as a lamb that starts a cult—pretty straightforward. Similar to Animal Crossing (2001).

9. Little Nightmares Series (2017) - The third game just released this year! If you enjoy creepy games, puzzles and tiny things—then you’ll love this series!

10. Luigi’s Mansion Series (2018) - Classic mansion exploration as Luigi tries to save Mario! I wonder if he’ll ever completely escape King Boo? 🤔

Console/PC:

1. The Lies of P (2023) - Pinocchio meets steam punk.

2. Fran Bow (2015) - Creepy puzzle game of pure horror as a little girl chases after her cat, Midnight.

3. Sally Face (2016) - Play as a young boy with a prosthetic face as he explores this psychological horror mystery.

4. Suck Up! (2024) - Time to trick AI characters in order to get in their houses and drain them of all of their blood! You play as a silly vampire trying their best to get their dinner. Let me know if you get all of the villagers in the comments below!

5. FNAF Series (2014) - CLASSIC! The second movie is coming soon too! Any games of this series will explore horrific histories, haunted animatronics, and jumpscares.

6. Little Misfortune (2019) - This horror mystery follows an 8-year old girl as she follows an unknown voice in her head—Mr. Voice, as he indicates to her where she needs to go in order to find “eternal happiness” with her mother.

7. Bloodborne (2015) - Play as a Hunter attempting to cure a blood-borne plague infecting the city—turning people into monsters, in a Victorian-inspired gothic setting.

8. Amnesia: Dark Descent (2010) - Can you maintain your sanity while you explore the dreaded castle Brennenburg? Let’s see!

9. Until Dawn (2015) - Windigos? If you are looking for a good interactive story-based horror game perfect for the disturbing nature of October, then this one is for you!

10. The Wild at Heart (2021) - An open world exploration game filled with strange beats, fun puzzles, and enriching animation. Super cute for those cozy-autumn lovers!

Board/Card Games:

1. One Night Ultimate Werewolf (2014) - Is it you? A deduction game where you are either a villager or a werewolf.

2. Zombie Kittens (2022) - Exploding kittens, but the Halloween, or undead version.

3. Clue, or Cluedo in the UK (1949) - If you don’t know what Clue is then I’m worried about you. It’s the most iconic classic mystery game!

4. Zombie Burrito (2024) - The team-based undead version of the dodgeball-esc game!

5. Psycho Killer the card game (2020) - A satirical card game of slasher film trivia!

6. Mysterium (2015) - Murder mystery setting. One person plays as the murdered ghost while the other players perform a seance to interact with them for clues—the ghost also can interact with them through visions.

7. Cards Against Humanity Tales (2024) with the Scary Pack (2022) - Fill in the blanks with your absurd card packs. The Scary Pack consists of 30-new cards, all things satirical horror. Should be a rather interesting game!

8. Hunt A Killer (2016) - An immersive murder mystery game with multiple options to choose from. Sort through clues and play detective to discover the truth for yourself!

9. Unsolved Case Files (2019) - It is extremely similar to Hunt A Killer, with this game you have the option to become a cold case detective today!!

10. Uno No Mercy (2023) - This game will for sure cause rifts, emotional damage, and trouble within your relationships. There is nothing scarier than who you become when Uno is set on the table.

Thank you for reading this mini series and make sure to come back to see tomorrow's post!

Sincerely,

        your 21st century poet <3
