Welcome to the third day of my daily October posts! Throughout these next 29-days, I will be posting different spooky fun facts, tricks and treats. Today, we will be going through my top 10 favorite cozy autumn novels I recommend reading this autumn season! Enjoy!

1. Dead Poets Society (1988) by Nancy H. Kleinbaum - I know I just recommended this as a movie yesterday, but… the book is just as good if not better! Following the philosophy of crape diem in a high school English class, we have this coming-of-age novel set in the beauty of autumn that you experience through its pages. It is the perfect read for a splendid autumn season.

2. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches (2022) by Sangu Mandanna (you will see her on this last again because she might possibly be the queen of all things cozy, witchy and autumn) - Are you looking for a cozy story filled with new beginnings, romance and maybe a twist or two? Well this is the right novel for you! There is a little sprinkle of magic in it too…

3. Ghost Roast (2024) by Shawneé Gibbs and Shawnelle Gibbs - If you’re looking for any graphic novels on kicking ghost ectoplasm—then look no further! This phenomenal graphic novel created by the Gibbs sisters has all of the risks, beauty and battles for you! You’ll be sure to have a haunted time keeping secrets with Chelsea Grant. 👻

4. Pumpkin Heads (2019) by the infamous Rainbow Rowell (I know, I was excited as well when I first heard about this novel) - That’s right, I found you another graphic novel—you’re welcome! I wonder what happens when you leave two best friends in a pumpkin patch on their final day of working together before they move off to college..? Guess you’ll have to read this cozy romance for yourself to find out! 🎃

5. The Pumpkin Spice Café (2023) by Laurie Gilmore - If I’m honest, I avoided this book for a while as everyone and their mother’s doctor seemed to have been obsessed with it since it first came out—I guess I was put off by its popularity. My main issue with the novel was that no one gave me a good reason to read it, but now I have some for you! This cozy romance novel is nothing short of heartwarming. A unique take on the mystery genre without losing the elegance of autumn. This is the first novel of a 5-part series (as of writing this post) and I am just as excited as you to read the next 4! Ultimately, I recommend this novel and I’m glad I gave it a chance—I’m sure you will too!

6. Mooncakes (2019) by Suzanne Walker and Joamette Gill - For my final graphic novel recommendation of this post, this one takes the mooncake—get it? 😂 Anyway… Moving on! This novel is not only charming in visuals, but also in characters! A cozy teenage witch story of battles, werewolves and a magical bookshop? I know, say no more—right? Make sure not to miss it!

7. Kiki’s Delivery Service (1985) by Eiko Kadono - Any other Studio Ghibli lovers here? If so, leave your favorite film in the comments below!! Mine is When Marnie Was There (2014), sad but beautiful. This coming-of-age novel follows a little witch named Kiki trying to find her main ability. I suggest it to anyone looking for a relaxing read on broomsticks and new beginnings!

8. A Witches Guide to Magical Innkeeping (2025) yet another cozy, witchy book by the phenomenal mind that is Sangu Mandanna—told you that we would see her again - Come and check out her newly published autumn-tale! This novel is filled with my favorite themes of Mandanna—romance, found family, and plot twists!

9. The Late-Night Witches (2025) by Auralee Wallace (‘Auralee’ is a beautiful name isn’t it?) - Yet another newly published novel!! This novel will provide you with all things family, autumn, and fighting for your home! It is just a beautiful and rather funny exploration of magic. It’s definitely one of my favorites on this list!

10. The Spell Shop (2024) by Beth Durst - This was one of the top cozy, autumn books of last year and it definitely deserved to be! If you want to read a cozy novel with themes of romance, illegal bookshops and cottage-core, then this is the right book for your autumn season!

Thank you for reading and make sure to come back for tomorrow's post!

Sincerely,

        your 21st century poet <3
